Harry Jerome Recreation Centre

This project proposal was created to be North America’s largest recreation centre. The goal was to foster individual and collective wellness by providing opportunities to participate in a variety of organized and casual activities. My role involved creating the project vision through various massing and site studies. We sought to create a hub for recreation that would consider the community and its surrounding environment. Encompassed by mountains and ravines, the project team wanted to incorporate its green surroundings into the building itself. With this vision in mind, the building was separated by a ‘ravine’ that would maneuver the green belt from the south end, through the building form. Iterations in planning were created through design sessions to link the vision of the city and community. Program included a natatorium, 2 NHL sheets, a curling rink, gymnasium, youth
centre, seniors centre, skatepark, and fitness centre.

Project has been issued for tender and will be beginning its construction document phase.
